Valerie Reeves, Co-Founder
M.Ed., Reading Specialist-CALT
I developed a love in helping students learn to read. I am a nationally Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). I have been tutoring students who struggle in reading, with a specialty in students with language disabilities/dyslexia, for over ten years. It is my firm belief that all students can learn and be successful when given the proper tools.

Janice Stokes-Newman
Reading Specialist, CALT
My passion is sparking the love of reading in children and families. I am an Executive Leader with PaperPie (formerly Usborne Books & More) and a licensed dyslexia therapist. I live in Houston and have five adult children who love to read and a grandbaby who loves “Memaw’s” books.
Helping children with dyslexia is a big part of my mission. I understand how these children struggle because four of my kids and I have dyslexia. In 2018. I underwent training at Neuhaus Education Center to become a licensed dyslexia therapist. I learned a bunch about the science of teaching reading that benefits my triplets and now through private practice, I help other children with dyslexia learn to read too. I also love sharing with children how their brain works.

Mya Anderson
Reading Specialist
I have always had a huge passion of helping others see the true potential and gift that they have within themselves, and I have transferred that passion into young minds. I'm a University of Houston graduate, and during my time in school I found a fire to help students with learning disabilities/dyslexia. Regardless of the setbacks students may deal with they deserve the opportunity to learn in the way that best helps them, so they may elevate in and outside of the classroom. I have love the relationships that I build with all my students, and being able to be the person that I wish I had when I was in school;)

Phyllis DeLano
Math Specialist, Former Dyslexia Specialist
I am a lifelong learner, and my hope is to instill the same desire in the students I interact with. I began my teaching career in 1993 teaching business skills to adults, enabling them to enter and/or advance in the job market. I soon realized my real calling is to encourage and build up younger children. I taught 18 years in elementary school teaching all subjects but focusing in math for 4 years and reading intervention, including Dyslexia Intervention, for 8 years. I want to open children’s eyes to the limitless opportunities a good education can give them—not just work-related but personal satisfaction as well. It is sheer joy to see a child’s eyes light up when he or she finds they can be successful.
